Year 6 Miss Christie

Welcome to Year 6!

Hello I am Miss Christie and I am so excited to be teaching Year 6 again this year! We have lots to look forward to!

As the children begin their new journey in Year 6, lots of new and exciting opportunities arise. We will begin the year by enjoying weekly swimming lessons every Monday morning! In class we will be learning all about Jacques Cousteau through the book ‘The Manfish.’ Children will learn all about his adventurous life and link his discoveries to our Science topic; living things and their habitats.

My class have already impressed me with their mathematical knowledge, we will continue working with place value and number up until half term. I will enjoy challenging the children and pushing them to meet their full potential in this area.

Although Year 6 can be a tough year for the children, my aim is to make their final year in primary school a fun and enjoyable one. I encourage the children in my class to follow their strengths and talents and even though there will be times when the children will be challenged and asked to work hard, I will always aim to keep fun and creativeness a part of their education. I look forward to helping the children to become confident, independent individuals ready for secondary school!

If you have any worries or concerns please, do not hesitate to come and see me at any point during the year.

Miss Christie J
