Y5 Mrs Pendleton

Welcome to Year 5!

I am so excited to be your child's year 5 class teacher! My aim is to make learning fun, and provide a happy, secure and challenging environment so that each child will reach their full potential and become confident, independent and enthusiastic learners.

Thank you for visiting our class page. I hope you find this to be an invaluable resource to keep up to date with all the exciting and wonderful things we are learning about in Year 5 this year.

If you have any worries or concerns please, do not hesitate to come and see me at any point during the year.

The Battles of Belgium.  #proudteacher

Learning and developing our key gymnastic skills.

Our lovely gardening club.

Super Scientists

Fruity planets, evaporation & condensation, classifying soluble and insoluble solids, reversible & non-reversible reactions, investigating saturation, and separating materials……just a regular Thursday morning in Year 5.

PGL

We had an amazing time at PGL, challenging ourselves and doing things we didn't think we could. We built rafts, shot rifles and abseiled down a 12m high wall to name a few activities.

World Book Day

Friendship is …….

Royal British Legion

We were honoured and extremely proud to be presented with this magnificent, memorial keepsake from The Royal British Legion representatives this week. It is a special thank you to the children of St.Michael's for not only their

continuing support of the Royal British Legion Poppy Fund, but their participation during the ‘Battle of Somme’ 100th anniversary commemoration celebrations.

Our Classroom……Loving Learning.

Our Prayer Garden.

We are very lucky to have a space where we can spend time in prayer and quiet reflection.

African Drumming

As part of our Music lessons, we were lucky enough to have Mr. Phillips, a percussion specialist, to come into school each week during Autumn term to teach us how to play West African Djembe Drums. We were taught how to play bass (with the heel of our hand) and tone (with fingertips). It was great fun and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.

Our Lovely Assembly.

Thank you to all who attended.
