Welcome to Year 5!
I am looking forward to our year together-with many opportunities for experiential learning and having fun! I am delighted to be working with you all, in our forward thinking and innovative school. I have no doubt that you will work hard and apply yourself fully to all areas of the curriculum in order to reach your full potential.
For those at home, our class web page will be updated regularly to keep you up to date with our adventures! Should you require any advice or assistance please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your continued support.
We would like to say a huge thank you to our local historians and British Legion representatives Harry and Tommy, who came into school to answer our questions and tell us all about the history of life in Ditton in days gone by.
The children were fascinated with their tales of Ditton in the late 1930's and early 40's. They listened intently to the account they gave of their exploits and adventures of their lives so many years ago.
Year 5 thorough enjoyed their Computing session this afternoon with Miss Smith, learning all about how search engines work.
The children in Year 5B thoroughly enjoyed our compliment day. We spent time recognising and appreciating the qualities and talents of all the children in our class.
We had a great time working with MAKO Digital Arts CIC, using ICT and Art to create digital designs and turning them into graffiti as part of the loan sharks project in Halton. This project improved the children’s knowledge and understanding of digital arts and technology whilst raising awareness around illegal money lenders.
The children in Year 5 had a wonderful time at PGL and made memories that will last forever. Their behaviour and conduct was impeccable - Mrs Pendleton and I are proud to be their teachers. They were super ambassadors for our school, they fully immersed themselves in all the activities on offer- a fantastic time was had by all!
