Foundation - Miss Owens & Miss Barrow

Hello, welcome to the Foundation Class Page.

We are Miss Owens and Miss Barrow and we are delighted to be teaching Reception this year.

I am Miss Owens and this is my fifth year teaching in St Michael’s and what a wonderful school it is. During this time I have taught in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, this year is an exciting new change and my first time in Reception. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach Reception as it is such a wonderful year as your child begins Primary school. I cannot wait to see them make so many new friends and develop their learning within our classroom.

Hello! I am Miss Barrow and I have been a part of the St Michael’s school family for around 3 years now however this is my first year as a teacher! As a student here, I was able to see how amazing St Michael’s is and am delighted that I am able to teach in such a lovely school to continue my journey as a part of our school family. I believe Reception is such a great year for your children to develop and grow with the learning opportunities that they will have and I am excited to see them thrive!

During their time at school your child will develop their social skills, confidence and independence through fun and exciting learning opportunities.

Within our classroom, the children will participate in whole class carpet times, phonics sessions, number sessions and will take part in child initiated indoor and outdoor play enhanced and supported by a dedicated team. They will be fortunate enough to work with Mrs Ainsworth who is our qualified Forest School teacher each Friday in Outdoor Learning sessions.
