Year 1 Miss Patino
Welcome to Year 1!
I’m Miss Patino and am delighted to be teaching Year 1 this year. After spending our first week together I am already so proud of each and every child in my class and I’m so excited to see how we can help each other to grow and learn so many new things.
This is a particularly exciting year as we have got two classrooms to learn in. One is a more formal based ‘traditional’ classroom and the other is a continuous provision based room, where the ethos and principles of EYFS are continued, with a focus on Year 1 curriculum. This is to ensure all children continue to have a love of learning and are given a chance to develop in a nurturing environment.
This term we are focusing on ourselves and the word around us. In English we will study familiar stories and hopefully write some stories of our own. In Come and See our first topic is ‘Families’, we will talk about our own families and learn about the importance of being part of God’s family. Our Maths work this term will focus on understanding numbers up to 100 and learning our number bonds to 10.
We are also extremely lucky to be working with Mrs Leadbetter and Miss Draycott this year, who are very excited to be part of our Year 1 journey.
