Year 5P - Mrs Pendleton

Hello! My name is Mrs Pendleton, I am the current Year Five teacher and I have responsibility for the teaching and learning of Mathematics across the whole school. I have lived locally and been part of the St.Michael’s community for many, many years. Both of my children enjoyed their primary years here, so I feel very much at home.

As a Year 5 teacher, my aim is to make learning fun, and provide a happy, secure and challenging environment so that each child will reach their full potential and become confident, reflective and independent learners. I am very lucky to be teaching an enthusiastic class that enjoys new challenges and practical learning experiences. Being creative in our learning makes our classroom an exciting place to be.

Thank you for visiting our class page. I hope you find this to be an invaluable resource to keep up to date with all the exciting and wonderful things we are learning about in Year 5 this year.

If you have any worries or concerns please, do not hesitate to come and see me at any point during the year.

World Book Day 2020
Christmas Jumper Day

Year 5 have had an amazing time at Halewood Leisure Centre during the past 8 weeks

PGL

Year 5 had an amazing time at the Boreatton Park PGL Centre in Shropshire. We climbed, jumped, leapt, slid, sang and tumbled our way around a huge range of activities including: rafting, giant swing, quad biking, zip wire and a campfire sing along.

We pushed ourselves to our limits, encouraged each other to have a go and often surprised ourselves at how much we could do when we were really determined.

Ditton Life

We would like to say a huge thank you to our local historians Harry and Tommy, who came into school to tell us all about the history of Ditton life in days gone by.

The children were fascinated with their tales of Ditton as far back as 1930. They listened intently to the account they both gave of their exploits and adventures of life in Ditton so many years ago.

Digital Art

We had a great time working with MAKO DIGITAL ARTS CIC, using ICT and Art to create digital designs and turning them into real graffiti as part of the stop loan sharks project in Halton. This project greatly improved the children’s knowledge and understanding of digital arts and technology as well as raising awareness around illegal money lenders.

Year 5P looking extremely smart in their uniforms and they have already settled down to their learning.

It’s going to be a good year.
