We were thrilled to take part in World Duchenne Awareness Day to raise awareness for the condition. Arthur, one of our pupils in Year 3 was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in 2020 and we have been working with Arthur and his family to offer them our support.
It was amazing to see all of our children dressed in red and lots of our pupils went to see the Mersey Gateway lit up red in aid of @Duchenneuk. We were proud to take part in a great day and Arthur was impressed with all of his school friends.
We will arrange another fundraising day in the near future.
We are delighted to welcome our children back to school today. They all look incredibly smart, energised and eager to embrace a new school year.
Miss Owens and Miss Abbott are extremely excited to welcome our new Reception children tomorrow for a taster session, with half day sessions starting on Monday. The children will complete their first full day in school on Thursday 9th September.
As a school we will continue to do everything to keep all of our children, staff and families safe and happy. The staff will be on the playground every day to answer any questions Parents/Carers may have and please feel free to telephone the office if you need any help.
Please make sure all contact details are kept up to date with the school office so that you receive all class messages by text and email.
We will continue to send updates via twitter which we encourage all parents to follow on @stmichaelscps.
We are very much looking forward to another successful year at St Michael's.
