Hello everyone,

My name is Miss Smith and I am the Early Years Leader and would like to take this opportunity to say Hi, and to welcome you all to the Foundation Stage. This is where your child will build up their confidence, independence and social skills through many enjoyable and interactive activities.

Here at St Michael’s, your child will have access to whole class carpet time sessions, which will include: numeracy focused sessions, phonics sessions, reading workshops and circle times for developing personal, social and emotional skills. Your child will also have access to child initiated play throughout their school day and access to our outdoor environment. All of our staff in the Foundation Stage are very committed and dedicated and spend their time supporting, observing and enhancing all children’s play as well as teaching activities indoors and outdoors.

We hope you and your child enjoy your time in the Foundation Stage, you know where we are if you need to talk to us or ask us any further questions, no matter how small you think the question may be. Our door is always open.
