Year 3 Mrs Ingram

Collective Worship

Year 3 children just loved Maths day. The children had lots of fun taking part in all the activities. One question they wanted to solve the most...Who did it????

This week is National Science Week and the children enjoyed taking part in the school science fair. The children enjoyed meeting the year 3 children for Gwladys Street Primary school and did a great job at making them feel welcome.

Coffee Morning for the Widnes Vikings. A lovely morning with our families and Year 3 did a great job at helping out!

A lovely visit from our class governor today. The children really enjoyed working with and getting to know Mrs Morris.

The children enjoyed learning how different types of rocks were formed. They melted starburst using a tea light to create igneous rock, they applied heat from their hands and pressure using a book to create metamorphic rock and they cut up starburst to create and combined them together to make sedimentary rock.

The children enjoyed exploring how objects move on different surfaces. They planned and carried out their investigation.

Exploring rocks

Having breakfast together

Gymnastics

Enjoying Art sessions with Mrs Murphy.

Creating our own sandwiches in our DT sessions. The children enjoyed thinking about nutrition in different ingredients.

Creating a timeline of our parent’s and grandparent’s memories and adding a few memories of our own.

Amazed by the fat and sugar content in McDonald's food!!

I’m Mrs Ingram and I have the pleasure of teaching year 3 at St Michael’s. This year the children have started their journey into the juniors and will aim to develop the key skills of independence and resilience that are essential for their life long journey with learning. In year 3, we aim to create a classroom where a 'can-do' attitude is at the centre of everything we do. We aim to create a positive and encouraging environment where we support and look after one another.

We aim to create a fun, but challenging curriculum. This year we will be learning many new things. We will be starting our learning journey by learning all about our school and local area. Later on we will be learning about what life was like in early Britain and finding out all about the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. We will be studying plants, finding out where our food comes from and looking at nutrition. We will be designing and creating our own cards, creating our own podcasts, making our own new and exciting dishes and much much more!!
