Welcome to Year 6, my name is Miss Christie and I thoroughly enjoy teaching at St Michael’s. The children in Year 6 continuously work hard and apply themselves fully to all areas of the curriculum in order to reach their full potential.
Year 6 is always a difficult year preparing for SATs. However, we strive to ensure that the children experience a broad and balanced curriculum; with many opportunities for experiential learning and having fun!
It is our job throughout the year, to help the children become more independent in preparation for high school. Should you require any advice or assistance please feel free to contact us.
Thank you for your continued support.
We thought about our gospel values during our role play of 'The Prodigal Son' in Come and See.
We made blood smoothies with Mrs Edwards while learning about blood cells in our bodies.
We have enjoyed learning the song 'I'll be there' by Michael Jackson in our music lessons.
We were so lucky to have Harry visit our class to tell us all about the history of St Michael's and Ditton.
We enjoyed tasting a variety of pizza topping before we designed our own pizzas in DT.
We are very lucky to have Mrs Wallace teaching us some traditional hymns in class.
We enjoyed our role play interviews about our current book 'Holes' in English.
We are enjoying our weekly PE sessions, this week we focused on our throwing and catching skills.
We investigated artefacts from WW1 in preparation for Remembrance Day. We used our enquiry skills to raise questions about what life was like during the war.
Thank you to Grandparents, Parents and the Royal British Legion who joined us for our Remembrance Day Collective Worship and Afternoon Tea.
