  • Levi Tafari Poet Visit

    Thu 25 Apr 2024 JD

Today we were thrilled to welcome world renowed Poet, Levi Tafari into school. Levi is a local celebrity who was awarded 'Citizen of Honour ' of Liverpool in 2023. Levi has performed internationally as a performance poet, writer and actor.

.Levi started the day by performing some of his poetry during  a whole school assembly which completely captivated the children. This was followed by workshops with Year 3 and Year 6 during which the children wrote and then performed their own poems.

It was an honour to welcome Levi into school today and we look forward to welcoming him  back next year for a return visit.

  • Halton Poetry Festival

    Tue 23 Apr 2024 JD

A group of Year 4 Children were chosen to take part in the Halton Poetry Festival at St Pauls Church in Widnes.

The children were asked to perform their own compositions  in front of a full Church which was an amazing achievement. We were so proud of the the way they performed and conducted themselves. They were a real credit to St Michael's.
