It was lovely to see all the children got involved with the Willow sculpture statues which have been created in the school grounds.
The sculptures look amazing and really enhance our school grounds.
A big thank you to Sculptor Caroline Gregson for her hard work in helping the children create such amazing statues.
Reception Parents had a lovely afternoon joining in with their children in their Forest School session. This was an excellent opportunity for Parents to get some insight into the activities the children take part in and witness just how much the children enjoy the sessions.
Reception class will continue with their Forest school sessions for the rest of the school year.
On Thursday 7th March the children came to school dressed in their favourite book character to celebrate 'World Book Day'.
It was lovely to see the children arriving in school in such imaginative Book Day outfits. Thank you to all our parents for helping the children with their costumes.
To celebrate 'World Book Day' the Book fair is in school from Thursday until Wednesday 13th March. Parents can accompany their child to the book fair from 3.00-3.30pm each day where there is an impressive array of books for sale that the children will enjoy looking through.
On Friday 1st March Year 5 hosted a Fairtrade coffee morning in school. Parents were invited into school for a cup of tea or coffee to help support the Fairtrade foundation. This organisation is committed to improving the lives of the farmers and workers who produce much of our food. Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in low-income countries around the world.
Thank you to all our parents who came to support this event and to Year 5 for organising the morning so well.
Year 5 had an amazing 3 days last week at Boreatton Park which is a multi activity adventure centre set in the Shropshire Countryside.
The children took part in many outdoor activities over the 3 days but particuarly enjoyed the canoeing activity and the climbing wall. The evenings were spent having a sing song around a camp fire and playing games.
The entire trip was a complete success which we are sure the children will remember for years to come.
