Welcome to Year 1!

I am Miss Smith and I am delighted to be teaching your children this year. This is my 13th year teaching at St Michael’s and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such a wonderful school community.

I am passionate about Early Years and child development and have recently achieved my Master’s degree in this area. I love enhancing children’s learning through play, exploration and hands-on experiences, helping them to develop their confidence, curiosity and independence.

My aim is for every child to thrive in all aspects of their learning, while feeling happy, valued and excited to come to school each day. I will be supported throughout the year by Mrs Jones and Mrs Hanson-Jones, who will be an important part of our Year 1 team.

We have lots of fun and exciting learning experiences planned for Year 1 and I am really looking forward to watching the children grow, learn and flourish throughout the year.

We are going to have loads of fun in Year 1, and I cannot wait for the exciting year ahead!
