Prayer and Liturgy
Prayer and Liturgy is a central part of daily life at St Michael’s Catholic Primary School, giving staff and children a chance to stop and reflect and take some time for their spiritual self. Prayer takes place daily in classrooms at the start of the day, before lunch, after lunch and at home time. Celebration of The Word happens weekly for everyone and may link to "To know you more clearly" (RE) themes, morals or values, celebrations of the liturgical year, current affairs or something relevant to the children at a given time. This may happen as a whole school or class, and will sometimes be led by our Class Chaplains with the support of Mrs Hillier.
We gather together for Celebration of the Word in our prayer garden, outdoor classroom, in each class and together as a whole school in the hall.
Masses
We attend Mass in Church on holy days of obligation, celebrated at St. Michael's Church. We also celebrate Mass in school with Father Mark, our Parish Priest. We regularly take our pupils to Mass to support them in developing their Catholic faith.
Our Cathedral
We are very lucky to have visited our Mother Church on two occasions recently. Firstly, Y5 and Y6 visited for a tour and to celebrate Mass with Fr. Mark and secondly, our choir visited to sing at the Good Shepherd Mass.
