Year 3 Miss Smith
Welcome to Year 3!
Hello! My name is Miss Smith and I have the pleasure of teaching your wonderful children this year. I have been a teacher at St Michael’s for 12 years now and have loved teaching EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. We are very lucky this year to be supported by Mrs Bent, who is our teaching assistant and who you will be able to greet and pass any messages on to every morning at the door.
Mrs Bent and I have enjoyed getting to know all of the children these last few days and are both really looking forward to our fun-filled year of excitement, enthusiasm and lots of hard work. We understand that the transition from infants to juniors is a big step for the children and we aim to make it as smooth as possible for them.
This year, the children will be encouraged to work independently at times throughout their school day, but support is always available to them if and when needed.
As a school, reading is a big focus this year and we ask that you encourage your child to read their book each day to boost their confidence, fluency and pace when reading independently.
Our PE days this half term are every Tuesday and Thursday. Please can we ask that the children arrive to school wearing their full PE kit on these days.
We look forward to a year full of laughter and adventure.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
